I'm still a little vague on what exactly we're supposed to write. I know the film will be about a strange mysterious phenomena never really explained, but are there rules as to what kind of script we should write? Can the phenomena be threatening, or is it peaceful? Should we write a resolution or keep it open ended?
What's going on with the story?
This could also be a good place to bounce some ideas off each other possibly.

I know that the whole idea is to keep the story open and to the interpretation of each filmmaker. The only real reason I have any desire to have a handle on the bigger picture is just to make sure my segment fits in. I've written a 3 page script that only deals with the event in the last 30 seconds or so and I've started to worry that it won't fit into the grand scheme very well.

Guys guys guys... I said a thousand times b4 so I'll say it again - don't worry about your story fitting in - that's my job! Trust me as I trust you, I don't want to tell you how to make your segments/scenes so that you could feel free to interpret the idea any way you see fit - I'll worry about the rest - ok? Now, what you can do for now is have a look across the board where I've posted recently a short...well...outlining (maybe?) of what the structure of the film should be like in general and see where your segment fits in. Oded.

Hi Oded and all You dearies ! I was just thinking more strogly about my sequence the last days ( in mind the end of May ) and wanted to discuss an idea that came to my mind, concerning the "time" of the film. We never talked about when " The Coming " takes place. Is it a futuristic world in the far future ? Very Scifi ? I had an idea for that and wanted to ask if the film will play now in present time or in a time in the future, so that I can change my scribble for the sequence, to fit in the concept. That seems to be a more " design " question, but very important for the style of the outcoming film, I guess. It would also be interesting, if every different producer that works on it from all the differnnt countries would show the fiction of what he thinks the land ( his homeland ) will look like in this " future time ".( Oded, just say stop, if I drive the project idea into the wrong direction, but it would be a great thing from the design question, to show all these diferent people in strange costumess with new habits, waiting for " not to show " in " THE COMING ". What do ya all think about ? To the mailings: Yes I did a lot of such stuff and would be pleased, if You would exchange Your contact addresses with me. I will send You mine, if You like, so that the " Pool " geets biggger for us all. ( An old dolphin phrase, splas [/nina_kahler@hotmail.com])

Nina - STOP! To be honest - I always had the present in mind for the project's story time. I think mixing in different time lines will complicate things and just placing the whole thing in the future would ocmplicate things for a lot of the members that can't afford the time/money to design their segments to be futuristic - besides, I'm really interested in reflecting our time in such an event. Oded.

Okay Oded, that´s alright with me. Present time as time setting for the sequence. The argument of money I do not accept. It is a question of phantasy to construct a scifi story and design of it, there are a lot of funny scifi adaptions that work with nearly no money ( very little spaceship models ect. ) but whatever You think, it is Your project. And I can use my idea for an own scififilm-no prob ! For the mailaddresses : I hope the STOP did not mean that and You all send me Your mail addresses, if You like to.
Greetings
Seahorse

Hi NIna, just to clarify - the "STOP" was only for the sci fi idea, please keep up your wonderful work with sending our project out to as many people as you can and EVERYBODY - please do the same and also exchange the addresses with one another...it may prove useful, Oded.

Will the coming be specified, or is it meant to stay as any coming?
I might be interested in participating with a segment, if I get an idea.... who may join?

Both are up to you... but I think that I would love having some foreign languages without subtitles...just think how suspenseful it'll be for those that don't speak that language trying to make sense of what's happening...
