mke, Hows that digital 8 Camera? My dad was thinking about getting one so we could watch all our old (analog) 8mm tapes. Does that work with a D8 cam? And Is that wide angel lense nice? I was looking into getting one of those, but I wasn't to sure what they were good for.

i liked it when i bought it, but d8 is old technology now it does play old 8mm or hi8 tapes just like it was a regular 8mm/hi8 camcorder. it's pretty cool you can take all your old footage and get it on your computer and edit it i do enjoy the wide angle lens. it comes quite in handy, almost like a good form of a crutch. i use it a lot, it's no special brand or anything, cost me about 60 bucks. i definitely recommend having one.

I've not had the money to create a complete package yet, but so far I've put together;
Canon Xl-1 Scoopic MS 16mm (sync) Smith Victor Light kit Pinnacle DV-500+ / Premiere 6.0 A case full of this and that.

Canon GL2 Audio-Technica AT815B Shotgun Mic Jib-Arm MiniDisc for sound (unless I use my XLR-adaptor and just go right to the camera...)
I don't have editing software right now, so I may be sending the actual tapes and have Oded edit my section...

I am using my old super8 filmcamera ( Braun ) from the seventies for some parts of the material and a digital DV Videocamera (eventually the camera Panasonic ) or some cameras I can get from my past university class. Editing at Premiere6 maybe, but not fixed yet.
