Well I know that that light in the sky was a big thing in my original post but it was meant for an idea. I think that Flimmaker has the right idea that it should be many different phenomenon think of Close Encounters.
I think in Seattle area we will get together those interested and have a meeting about it. I will post more as I find out more.
I think that as an idea it has alot of merit. It could be big or just a cult fav. OR just another mark on our collective records. IF we do it right It can be alot of fun and very bizarrly creative.
Well got school in the morning.. so off to bed I go.

well i may be bed ridden but ive still had a productive day, ive chatted 2 everyone on my course and they all wanna do something, our tutors think its a good idea and we will be discussing it more in depth on monday..its half term now...anyway every one realised the merits of having a film credit on their cv...looks good when your applying for uni! so far we havn't got many ideas but every ones brainstorming so hopfully on monday we will have something solid, then all we gotta do is get it down on paper and find some locations which shouldn't be hard as we could use just about anywhere i suppose!! can u tell im tired....also i suggested we should just film as much as we can in different places as i figured that would give you more options..all i need to know now is when do u want the footage by, what format do you want it on and where do i send it to? well im off 2 write down some ideas but so far i figured that with our limits i should stick 2 doing the first person blair witch type scenes, only they wont be crap like in the blair witch....we have a massive park here in leicester (bradgate park) so i suggested going there at nite and filming ppl panicking and shooting scenes around the area and some in leicester city centre itself.....god im going on a bit now....i really should get more sleep....bye 4 now.....matt...ps let me know how to get the film to u and when for!!!!

Hey everyone,
I haven't commented at indieclub, but I believe that this is a very cool idea. I really haven't brainstormed anything yet because I am swamped with other projects, but I would very much like to be involved.
If this is edited properly, then I believe we could have something great here. But I think that the editing will definitely make or break it. Maybe we should set something up here where everyone posts an outline of their idea so we can all think of how arrange everything.

nice to see someone realiseing that this is a great idea, so far some ppl seem to be a bit miffed about it....well no offence to anyone but on some of the film sites ive visited all ive found is ppl harpin on about their next sci-fi horror project, they all seem to include the same buffy esque type stuff and they dont seem intrested in this project at all, dont know why cause this 1 is original where as some of the crap ideas ive seen 2 day would make xtro-3 look like an oscar nominated flick!!!!
like i said no offence...i admit i might not have any experience but i know a good idea when i see one and this is certainly a better idea than another critters rip off!!! like i said b4 this is reminescant of early russian montage, so im gonna make sure ppl take it seriously, after all i should be grateful that someones letting me have a crack at helpin out. anyway enough of my blabbering i really need some sleep!

I really like the site. For the sand storm I am going out to buy some bags of sand in a couple of days. I have aquired a huge fan. I have also tried a fog effect. The fog is coming through the door quickly in the beginning and and slows down middle to the end. i have another idea. You know how animals go crazy because they know something is coming or something is wrong. My cats do this all the time so I am going to tape that and see how that turns out.

(filmmaker82) Hey everybody!
Before I post a larger message dealing with a lot of ideas I had let me just address certain issues I can already see here - first of all, when I came up with the idea and posted it my plan always was to get the clips from you guys and edit the master in such a way that would make this an incredible tapestry and one hell of an experience to watch...I'm pretty sure I know how to do that and I'm still perfecting my idea and you will all have a say in how this project ends up looking but I'll be doing the editing myself so all the clips should somehow reach me. Format is not an issue since I have access to pretty much anything - the question is what's the most comfortable way for you guys to send it to me without risking too much of the quality...I might have an FTP site we can all load all our stuff too and it's pretty big but there's a time issue with the upload that each of you should consider...otherwise I guess sending me a tape or CD to an address that I will give those of you who want to do so is the best way to go at this. I just wanted to point out the fact that I will be doing the final editing of the film and so all materials should be sent to me so feel free to contact me at any time to discuss your own personal situation and the best way for sending me everything. We'll have to work this out individually. Anyway, like I said - I'm not pulling ranks or anything here when I say that I'm the Chief editor/director so it's important to me that you guys not take this as "Oded's trying to be our boss" because I'm not...after I'll edit it (the way I already think is the best and most original way to approach this) we will all discuss it and change it to fit all of our expectations of it. Is that cool with everyone? I hope it is because a large part of creating this project for me was to be able to get as many clips as possible that have nothing to do with one another except for the main idea and then try and put them all together into one "makes sense" result...so that's why it's important that you understand this. Anyway, like I intially said - there is no deadline...well, at least not a close one, I would like this project to go ahead in the next few months...and not a year or three from now...but there is not "this sunday, next monday" deadline - when you have something, let me know - we'll find a way to send it over to me and it WILL make it into the final cut. Promise. Anyway, I have some things to do and then I'll post a few more issues that I came up with last night... Thanks a bunch everybody!!! Oded.

I just wanted to add that I strongly urge you NOT to edit in any musical score to the films. It would ruin the credibility of it and we do want it to give a very REAL inpression... I was thinking that only the last 2-3 minutes of the project should include a musical score...that way...even if someone totally buys that it's real this would let them know that they can relax and it's just a movie...it's also a great way of wrapping it up with quick cuts and a more cinematic approach to editing these last few minutes...

Hey everybody, Ok first of all I'd like to note that a lot of the questions being asked here have already been answered in our original thread at indieclub.com so it may prove useful for everyone joining us here to read that material first, ANYWAY, tre - you can do as many scenes as humanly possible as far as I'm concerned, whatever you do will be in the movie one way or the other so go ahead and do what you can. Lets all thanks Matt for sacrificing his vision(physically not metaphorically) for the sake of this project! Yay Matt! (hope you can read this). I'm gonna go over the rest of the threads and answer all your questions now, had a busy weekend with zero access to the net so my fingers will be bleeding by the end of the day... Oded.

BTW - I still haven't received any info, bio's or pictures from you guys... still waiting...
ONE MORE THING I'd like to address is the need for foreign languages - without subtitles!!!!!!
Can anyone deal with this? I'd just hate if everything is in english or silent.
